Should the clutch arm be able to be moved without using the clutch pedal, i.e. by hand with the motor out of the car? Just want to make sure everything is lined up right, and not pinched somewhere.

Yes, but you need alot of force, IE a large prybar wedged against something on the case. If you have a heavy pressure plate, good luck.
