I got this 86 GLH-T from a friend 6 or so years ago. It was a Mn. car that moved to Texas in the early 90's and was chased out of Texas by emissions laws around about 2001 or 02. It then passed ownership through a couple of friends and ended up with me back in Mn.. Hasnt been on the road since 06 cause of various things mostly wireing. It did run strong but was still a T-1 car. I will have pics soon. I have been slowly hoarding some real awesome parts and its just about time to assemble. I only need a few more pieces. Would love to drive to SDAC this summer. We will see how optimistic that is but since its only 400 miles away if i'm ever gonna drive to one this is it. Here is my list of parts so far
86 GLH-T
Daytona intercooler and radiator assembly
Daytona turbo Z T-2 motor wiring harness
Garrett turbo, to3 with 50 trim to4 compressor wheel
Shelby 2 piece intake
Shelby valve cover
Car has full 3 inch exhaust except stock at swingvalve.
89 555 trans with shifter and 1 of cables.
T.U. GLHS stage II calibration
+40 injectors
Big Holley fuel pump (255 lph???)
Adj fuel pressure reg.
86 2.2 in it or a 89 2.5 not sure what i want to use. Obviously need dif. cal. with 2.5 but would only need forged pistons and headstuds for higher boost levels. 2.5 is currently in a Lebaron conv. that is very sellable( somewhere around 1000 bucks) and could fund a lot of other things. Its a awesome running turbo motor i'm worried would come back to haunt me once i sold it. Have to cross that bridge soon.
Parts i need befor assembling
A.T.P. 3 inch swingvalve and downpipe
Clutch-probly go cheap with a t-3 pressue plate, t-2 clutch disc from Cindy at FWD
Braided steel oil and coolant lines for turbo
2nd cable for shifter
Parts down the road
Some kind of BOV
Suspension- at least new Monroe struts and shocks but would love Koni's$$$$$$
Big brake junkyard conversion.
Nicer adjustable fuel press regulator
I cant run too much boost yet and i might have some overkill in some area's but i hate buying twice and i'm planning/dreaming of high boost someday. Also and this is HUGE i have one of the Turbo Dodge godfathers living about 10 blocks from my house with imense usefull knowledge. Think over-restored 86 GLHS. Now i just need a couple parts and a lot of motivation.
