Yeah, if you like making power the easy way . . .
HEY! I did it the hard way for along time! Prices are down on the srt stuff and readily available. Prices are going up on the 8v stuff and its gettn harder to find!
Ain't that the truth.

Took the van to the annual "gobbler nationals" that our local track hosts. All the racers bring their dailys and run them in a big bracket race. To give you an idea of how large it is I went 5 rounds and only made it to the quarter finals! But anyway, I ran the van a total of 11 times and even cut a perfect (000) reaction time on one run!
Best run was
60---2.627
330---6.820
1/8---10.27 at 71.97MPH.
Im pretty happy with this. This is only the second time ive run the van at the track. And for 9psi im pleased! all and all good day!
So this week I installed a FWD S5 cal, +40s, 3 bar map, and filled up the tank. Im very happy with the results. Feels MUCH quicker at the same boost level over the stock 89 cal.
No wideband on this thing? Notice any fueling changes? I'm guessing it's all coming from timing for the most part if no hard parts changed.
Dont push the red button. You hear me?
No, I don't have a wide band in it. (narrow band for general reference) I would imagine its mostly timing related, although I was running a stock cal with +20s so my AF was likely off in several parts of the map.
got rear ended, total loss, sold van. This thread is now dead.
Bummer,
Was it still 8 valve?

I have wreck pictures on my phone, ill sit down one day and upload them. Its too bad but it was time to move on. My family is growing (another baby due in December) and my wifes van has 162k on it. with a few of my other cars needing towed by a full trailer it was time to move onto something that can pull a trailer safely. Im going to bid on a saab 9-7x tomorrow. If that goes through I will have an LSx (5.3) powered vehicle which will likely get turbo'd
They made a 6.0 version of it but i forget what the trim level is called. I like those trucks a lot.

Aero, the Trailblazer SS setup.

I didn't win the saab. It went for more than I thought it was worth. So the search continues
I was looking at those, not the Saabs specific, but "those". Wanted to find a '05 to '07 one with the extra row. I snagged me the Town and Country though, which has me happyish so far, I say ish, because it wasn't in such great shape as I thought it was (Hard to be sure under winter mess when I bought) so only got average deal on this particular one instead of "steal", but it was better than everything else I was seeing at the time so it's what I got. But the '02 in that seems to have been a good choice in general, due to it being the "consolidation" year after new gen, and before the germans started meddling. To get newer and good in that gen you'd probably have to skip to an '07, when they put stuff back to make sure they could shift them before the 08 gen. With load levelling they should handle up to the max braked trailer the hitch you get will handle, buuuut you probably want the right numbers on teh door sticker for the county mounty.
If'n I was gonna pick one outa that range, I think I'd go for the 05 Envoy Ranier XL due to the big brother assistance kit (onstar) coming in in 06.

I like 3.0s ... so??? ... stop looking at me like I've got two heads!
BTW I was looking at '05 up XC90s as well, in the "tow something, carry whole family, don't get screwed at pump" bracket, but the pricing around here was nowhere near sane.... If you find grandpa selling his 90's one owner low mileage, diesel Suburban.... and ditto in conversion vans, like Simon's, might be worth a think.
