Racing Saturday night (10/29) Phoenix AZ area

A bunch of us (5) are going to Speed World in Wittmann AZ (west of Surprise) Saturday night. I'll be racing my van and another TMer will be racing his CSX. We'll be there about 8:00. Come and hang out, or race.

Is that motivation to get it done quicker? I was at a party and some fellow TMers were taking about racing their cars but the cars they were discussing weren't running. So they came up with the idea of racing them by towing them down the race track.

My Dad's got the videos. I'll get them from him this week. I didn't think of downloading them onto my laptop like I normally do because my performance was so crappy. My best run was 15.6 (previous best was 15.3) because I was hitting my the limiter. I've got some tranny work to do.

Ya, but I really wanted to do better. I did run into some people in the staging area that were pretty wowed over a turbo-charged mini-van.

Re: Racing Saturday night (10/29) Phoenix AZ area

    2.0593

i also did a couple of runs launching from second gear, ran a 14.25 at 104.36 with a 2.43 60ft

The turbo on this car has been going since I started racing it, made 82 passes before the turbo finally lost its exhaust seal and the clutch has been slipping. I am confident with a new vnt turbo, better clutch, and slicks, I should have a low 13 second car. Not too bad considering it is almost all stock. Here is a page of whats been done so far:

Re: Racing Saturday night (10/29) Phoenix AZ area

Also, I keep getting emails/pm's saying that its not likely and or impossible to do what I have with a vnt turbo'd car. I have 82 time slips, video's and about 15 TM members who have been at that track and have seen this car go, so please do not tell me what is possible. When I first started racing this car many people said that the vnt does not flow well enough, if I mess with the airbox or exhaust it will overboost, you cannot grainger a vnt, etc. whatever. I have done all these things and the car just runs stronger and stronger. Anyone who wants to come check it out anytime, feel free, we are at the track almost every weekend. So please, no more junk mail

Re: Racing Saturday night (10/29) Phoenix AZ area

Hey all, Finally got the new vnt turbo installed and decided to mate the engine with my relentless performance A413. took the car out around the block and it feels friggen great. I had the trans built eons ago and never installed it, I really love driving a standard, but figured what the heck, while i have everything out why not try it. I should be hitting the track next weekend, will post the results.
    car is still basically stock:
    fwd stage 2 comp
    cone air filter
    larger intercooler
    stock downpipe, no cat
