Question Mopar Turbo Upgrade and Auto Transmission

I have a 2004 PT Cruiser GT with a Mopar stage one turbo upgrade, in the instructions for the install of the upgrade it says to train your transmission for optimum shifting and gives detailed instructions on how to do this, It was done on the original install. Is this something I will have to do everytime I dissconnect the battery. It sure seems like a pain in the a**. Thanks for any help. PTGT04

Sounds like they have you drive it through a "forced learn" procedure?

Yes, when the PCM looses power from a bat disconnect, it's adaptive memory (for both the engine and trans) go back to the pre-programmed baseline. So, you WOULD have to drive it through the procedure to have it "re-learn" the aggressive shift quality.

Unless you beat on it all the time, I wouldn't worry about it......
