    91 Spirit RT 8valve's Lots of work, My DD

    1991 Dodge Spirit R/T
    8v switch done by previous owner.

    at most 35k on all motor parts, 10k on clutch.
    88T2 bottom end
    Stage 2 Steve M. G-head (he lost flow #'s but it's alot)
    T3/T4 50trim .63ar
    TU 3" SV, High flow CAT entire exhaust is 3"
    Cometic HG, Head studs no wimpy bolts here.
    Intake/exhaust port matched to head and turbo (by mpgmike)
    F3 cam package, adjustable cam wheel
    Large NPR IC
    +40's
    TU 500Wtq clutch crazy setup.
    520 tranny, chrome molly plate (3.50)
    3bar map
    ECU 5th or so revision from Rob Loyd.
    Can run 22-24psi all day on pump 93, makes about 300whp at this level. Much left, cam timing could be played with to make even more HP and some sort of water/meth/alchy injection to run more timing safely to make BIG HP. I didn't want ash trays so I never really pushed the car.

    Raced at the track once, stock inj and stock ecu- 10psi all I could get before running out of fuel... ET was horrible due too soo much VHT i bogged every time. Trap however was 91-92mph at only 10psi and stock ecu for swirl head.
    Went to track last year and hit 103.7xmph with 23/24psi and the alcy system, was spraying too much alcohol and was making me slower- had wanted to turn up boost more but solid bobble strut bushing's got pushed over one end (previous owner installed wrong) so it cut my night short.

    This motor is very very efficient and the turbo really comes alive above 17psi. In fact this car is downright scary at times!



    Car has no A/C but heat works great, power lock, mirrors/heated manual windows. has a cd player.along with the installed EGT/boost and oil pressure gauge
    Have all the interior pieces that are missing in the photos, just didn't put them back after fixing floor and pulling out headliner due to it sagging. The headliner board got destroyed after I removed it (left on porch and it got wet/weird)


    Added Alcy Injection to it now and in works of getting a revised ECU (4/04/13)

    I still have the car, it's now in Texas- I have done a few things to it since this post. Most notable would be a alcohol injection kit added.

    For what it's worth, I did some work to this car a few years back and took my uncle for a ride (at a lowered 18 psi). He has a '68 B-Cuda with a T/A engine (turns 11.3) and (at the time) a Mustang GT. He flat out was impressed! He wouldn't race the 'Stang against it, but just guffawed about racing the Cuda. Nice ride.

    I'll give it thought, I really want a Spirit R/T but Cindy doesn't have any 16v heads in stock. The A568 is pretty important too, but I can get a 555 pretty cheap. I would have considered swapping the TIII out of my Iroc R/T but I started using it as a base to a twin charger project.

    Hey, would you still be able to get this back into the PA area?? I live in MD and would be interested... Does it still run, and is it drivable??? Let me know... Give me a call would love to chat... I have a 16v TIII 91 R/T that I bought from Cindy last year... Would be interested in a trade... Mine is a daily driver and I would drive it anywhere... Took it with me on vacation to the Outer Banks with no hesitation, and no issues at all... Drive it almost everyday...

    Man I was just looking at this ad yesterday, If I had more money I would so want this. I have wanted an 8v Spirit for a while.

    There was some rust up by the ebrake cable but I went crazy and cut a large section of the floor out and ground/painted the crap out of everything. There is typical rust on bumper shocks (front/back) for a Northern car, nothing new shocks wouldn't fix and some light rust up under the truck area- a grinder and paint easy fix.

    I plan on replacing a front hub tomorrow (wheel bearing going) and hope to clean up the car since it hasn't had a bath in over a year. I will get some updated pictures up, don't plan on seeing the inside though cause I have a crap ton of tools/stuff with me as I am in Alabama for work but the interior looks no worse then it did if not slightly cleaner from the last round of pictures (under the junk)

    Car squatting more then usual due to the trunk being full of my tools/stuff. As you will see I have stuff even on the seats the trunk is that full.

    Well I made it back from Foley AL and am back at home in Texas. Getting a new flash (ECU) for it today and will play around with it this week.
