    BoostButton New Products

I'm happy to announce 2 new products available on BoostButton.com. If you didn't see the thread in the EFI section, DodgeZ requested a calibration switcher, so we made them. The FourPlay is a cal socket/switch that allows you to switch between 4 16k calibrations (LM, T2 SMEC). The DoublePlay is a cal socket/switch that allows you to switch between 2 32K cals. Both use the 27SF512 or equivalent chip. Only $40 shipped. Available now!

I just have one question; can you switch it while the vehicle is running?

I thought the SMECs were 32k only?

The cals are 32k, the 27SF512 chip is 64k. So there is room on the chip for 2 cals. The LM cals are only 16k, which is why you can fit 4 cals on the same chip for them.

Some of the SMEC cals are 16K. IIRC the 89 MP TII cal is.

The '89 T2 cals are a16k as are the '88 T1 and T2 cals. All of the '89 T1 and Turbonator SMEC cals are 32k bins.

The only problem I see is if 2 of the bins are different codebases. For example, if you have a stock '87 T2 cal in one slot and a Turbonator-LM cal in another slot. Becuase you might switch cals in the middle of a jump instruction or table lookup, there's a chance that the code will jump into no-man's land in the next cal. The worst that will happen is you get a little hiccup when the ECU resets due to a COP error. I would avoid trying to flip the switch at WOT for that reason. But, switching while cruising or idling should be no problem.

If all of the cals in the various slots use the same codebase, then it should be no problem at all.

    Re: BoostButton New Products

I currently have 3 FourPlay's assembled, tested, and ready to ship if anyone else is interested in them. I can have a DoublePlay ready to ship in a day or two.

Do you have one with a zif socket? I still want one with a loaded chip.

    Re: BoostButton New Products

I just got the ZIF sockets in on Saturday. These are a slightly different type, they require a small screwdriver to open/close. But, they're low profile and very secure.

Force Fed - I got your board done, still need to add the wires/switch which I hope to get done tonight.

Cool, just checking. I'll probably be installing Bozo's DoublePlay this week.
