    SRT4 Intercooler

As the title says. I can get these for pretty cheap. How do they flow. Any problems out of them. I can get one for 40 bucks near me. Want this to go on my wagon possibly just to get a intercooler on it. Plan on running 16 to 18 pounds for right now on it.

This is how I mounted mine in my NY.

I tried to make it work without modding the tank, and couldnt come up with anything I liked.

yea that's the problem, you have to cut up too much of the car to get them to work, or cut the hell out of the i/c. They're ok, I'd go a different route and get a much better i/c that you don't have to hack the front of the car up as much that will flow and cool better for a higher price.

Here's how I did mine, just had to trim off the mounting points. I think I cut down the round end a inch or so also. Used 1/8" metal straps for mounting, screwed to the bumper rebar and the rad support, w/ 2 bolts in each strap holding the I/C.

IIRC it's good to 300-350hp on SRT's. Although I think some 300hp cars have upgraded it to a larger one and see a small gain.

well i could probably jsut buy one just to have a spare laying around. Planning on getting a project car hear soon to make a "race car" so that kind of intercooler would be a good start. Thanks guys.

Is it off of a neon, or a caliber? I have one of a Caliber, and it has some funky oval air inlets. idk about the one off the neon.

One side of the Neon SRT4 cooler is oval shaped.

    Re: SRT4 Intercooler

As others have said, there are many NSRT-4's making well over 300hp on stock intercoolers, but it's not clear when it becomes a restriction.

    Re: SRT4 Intercooler

They are good IC's when you can make them fit. Especially since you can get them cheap. They fit great in a car with a long nose like a daytona, or probably a lebaron. In the shorter nose cars they don't fit so great. I have seen them stuffed in p-bodys without A/C. I modded the tanks on the one for my NY, but thats because I had access to the tools to do it. Otherwise I would have made it fit, but it wouldn't have been as easy. As for the oval end, a 2.5" coupler slides over it no problem. For $40 I would buy it and try to make it fit, but at the same time a $100 ebay one may be cheaper all said and done.
