    Hood Vents---plastic ??

It was stated on another list our hood vents are made of plastic. Is this true. Any I have ever handled seemed more like aluminum.

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks
    Randy

I believe they are a thermoset plastic (one time melt) so they hold their shape in the presence of heat very well. The thermoset plastic is very dense so the vents are surprisingly heavy for their size.

yes the hood vents are made of compressed fiberglass, that is why they are fairly heavy.
