Scott all the lights work and blinkers and all that. When I turn the key to start it, all I get it one click and that's all.

    ***Update***

    El Turismo is aliiiiive!!!

Funny thing. I forgot about the whole pressing the gas pedal before trying to start it. Did that and she hesitated the first time and fired up the second. But she ended up idling really high and then idled low and dyed.

Started her up one more time and she stayed running for about 5 minutes before I turned it off. I'm going to post videos soon. Forget pictures.

Now I'm thinking of draining the fuel system and cleaning it out. Is it safe to use Seafoam in the gas tank? I need something to clean everything out. I was thinking maybe even in the crankcase.

Alright. I think I'm going to make a trip out to Autozone and pick up 2 bottles. Also I smelled an odd odor coming from the engine. It kind of smelled like burnt popcorn. Could that be the rest of the water drying out from when I shot off the engine bay? Or something more serious?

Yes that is a Gerald Levert tape. I'm thinking I might keep the stock tape player. I don't need CD's if I have Gerald Levert.

Vacuumed the interior and it looks nice. Thinking of painting some of the interior pieces though. Tomorrow I will seafoam the car and take it for a little longer drive.

So the weather here is going to suck for the next week or so. I'm going to be working on the interior mainly and hopefully picking up a Grant steering wheel tomorrow. I was thinking of going with black, gray, and yellow for the interior. I'll post up some pictures on Monday when I get back to it.

And I was looking for more peoples opinions on seafoam

Re: My 1984 Plymouth Turismo 2.2

I've been shopping around for parts and am having a hard time finding places that have parts for the 2.2L engine. Most places only have them for the 1.6 model.

Anyhow, will a radiator for a 1.6 be the same as the radiator for the 2.2? I found a great deal and want to go for it but I'm not sure if it's compatible.

If anyone can help, that'd be great

The 1.6 radiator would probably work, but I would imagine that it has a smaller capacity and wouldn't cool the car as well.

I'll check out that site. My radiator is leaking pretty good and the "fins" are all bent.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I suppose I'll just try to fix the leak.

Well I just ordered a wiring harness from ebay for a new deck and I'll be picking up a Grant steering wheel tomorrow off of Craigslist.

Then its to removing the seats, deep cleaning the carpet, new headliner, and seeeaafooooam

    **Update***

Rainy days have come and keep me from working under the hood since my car is outside. So I went looking through my garage and found the caps for my wheels. They look much better.

Also picked up some paint at Kragen to test out colors for my interior. Painted my glove box.

Let me know what you guys think.

Please do not paint any of your interior parts white, or what ever color that is. That would be almost as bad as the yellow vacuum line idea. I have never understood why people replace their vacuum lines with any other color than black. It certainly doesn't look any better, and it only draws attention to the messy crap under the hood that you shouldn't want people to be noticing. That goes for colored wiring loom as well. The best way to improve under the hood is eliminate or hide as much stuff as you can. Oh, and definitely lose the exhaust as well.

I agree. I would not use yellow vacuum lines or wiring loom. A clean engine bay draws more attention that one with wild colors.

I can see painting stuff in the interior to black, but I would not paint it any light color. That will show everything and will not look good either. The plastic interior paint works but it isn't the most durable stuff in the world either.
