88 Lancer Shelby - $600 OBO

Well, I think I'm getting back out of Turbo Dodges, at least for a little while. I'm looking to buy another Turbo Volvo again (preferably a 240/740/940, RWD model) soon, so I need to shed myself of my two cars. Up first is the Lancer.

I'll be honest, this car is ugly. The fenders and header panel are maroon, the rest of the car is white and the roof is surface rust covered. It has a blue leather interior, but the carpet needs to be pulled out due to stench, and the seats have some small tears. It is the only Lancer Shelby I know of that has a digital dash (out of a New Yorker) and it has all the Lancer Shelby specific parts (ground effects, both rear wings, etc.) and is on 15 inch white snowflake rims. The strong part of the car is the engine and the tranny. The engine has an oil leak of unknown location, but runs strong. The tranny features a new T3 Clutch assembly and flywheel, and is the 555 (Getrag) gearset for reliability. It is factory intercooled with the Garrett T3 turbo.

Needs:
Needs the front shocks replaced BAD. If you want to lose some fillings, drive over some potholes as it is. Kidney damage anyone? (I have the shocks that will go with the car.)
Driver's side power window is broken. The track had a piece break off of it a few months back and I haven't had time/desire to fix it.
The car will come with no stereo and 3 blown speakers (much the way I received it).

It does run and drive fine, but you'd have to keep an eye on the power steering and oil levels due to the leaks. This car was SUPPOSED to have been a freshly rebuilt motor and the PS pump was supposed to have not leaked at all. Yeah, whatever.

Honestly, it could be a VERY fun little car with some TLC. The Lancer Shelbys, while not numbered, were VERY rare, with less than 500 total every made. If properly restored it would be one of the most rare Turbo Dodges around and could be a great project for somebody. That somebody is just not me, at least, not right now.

Jason, I couldnt figure out if you were trying to sell the car or talk someone out of the car?!?!? Oh well, good luck selling it.
I have seen the car and it has potential.

I just want to be up front about it. The car does have a TON of potential. It's rust free (except for the roof oxidation issues) and it does have all of the ground effects (the side skirts are off due to the different front fenders).

Not to mention, it runs. It runs well, and could be a good daily for somebody after some work. I'm just not that somebody right now.

Tell you what Kevin. Buy the car for $600 and then you'll have the wing and a whole bunch of other parts you can use!

That looks like a decent car. The 88s came with eggshell wheels, the 89s got the snowflakes. I guess someone changes the wheels on it at some point?

Yep, the previous owner. Personally, I think the snowflakes look FAR better than the eggshells anyway.
