Maybe plastic weld the broken piece?
Maybe plastic weld the broken piece?
It is of the wrong material to plastic weld. It is rubber and would immediately melt/burn/ emit a toxic gas that would make it hard to breath. I speak from experience!
This would be a project I would tackle next if I had the time/money. I love the Silver/blue paint combo. Always wanted one in that color. Good Luck with the project Gary. Even more importantly an excellent project to work on with your daughter - a good bonding experience.
Wanted to stop in and say hi first off. Been traveling so much lately that I lose track of where I am. My youngest daughter and myself have tore the whole interior out of the car. Will be ordering new carpet for the car shortly as well as some sound deadener for the floorboards.
Going thru the car, I've found that I will need A LOT of small interior items and I mean alot. Gonna need to find a donor car to help me with this restoration, might put together a list and make a WTB post. First things first and that's get the rest of the car's interior cleaned up and ready to go back in. Will have picks when i'm back from my next three trips in couple months.
If you need any parts alan has I red parts car you could probley get some parts from lol....... Subscribed

Fix that plastic piece with some two part flexible bumper repair compound. Your local paint supplier should have some.
3m makes the best stuff out there.
Just follow the directions and put plenty on the back along with some drywall tape to bind the adhesive.
Thanks for the idea.
Car is slowly coming along, and I mean slowly. My daughter and I have the whole interior out of the car except for the dash and steering wheel. We plan to clean up the interior coat the floors in sound deadener and order new rugs. Been trying to collect parts the list is long on what I need, and keeps getting longer. After interior complete will start posting more pictures. Slow process, almost need to hire some people to do the work for me - who in California needs some work? LOL
How's the car coming along Garry?
