Urethane Casting Compounds - Anyone use them before?

I need to figure out a way to make a housing for the SCI connector/cables I'm building. I was hoping Johnny could help out, but his molder can't do anything.

So, I was thinking baout just making simple mold and pouring a urethane over them. Anyone ever mold stuff with it? How hard is it to work with?

Here's a pic of the cable as-is, and a pic of the 'standard' SCI connector that comes with scan tools...

What about a "hard" potting compound? Seems like that would be the ticket! We used to use that stuff to pot our progressive controllers... But, I'm sorry, I can't recall who made it or what it was called... I do recall the soft (rubbery) compound we used was from GE...

Rob, are you trying to make a connector? or just reinforce the wiring connections to the board?

I'd like to make a connector. At least up to the prongs. At the minimum, I need to protect the wires and give the user something to pull on...

Epoxy works great. Might appear a little crude and rough but holds up well. We use it all the time for our shop test connectors.
