i went to crank over my car today which is a 86 t1 z and it started for one sec went to back up and a small flame came out over by the battery and it shut off what wire could have touch to cause all this my care WONT EVEN CRANK OVER NOW

I'm thinking a fusable link may have burnt up? I've never seen fire from one, but they do smoke. Possibly a starter wire grounded on the trans?
Do you have lights, anything?
If not, sounds like something shorted out, like above said, its possible the power wire to the starter shorted out,

i was thinking that so should i just replace both fuse able links it scared the H$ll outta me plus the day before this happened i notice my alternator was charging a little above normal could this be cause by the fusable link
