It works pretty well actually. When I first got Mini it wasn't working. Went through the troubleshooting and didn't see any problem so I bought an identical kit to replace the servo thinking the board inside was bad. Nope, wasn't it.
Call their tech support and actually spoke to a real live person, in of all places, the good ole US!
Found out the signal wire (brake ground) had a residual voltage of like 1.5 V. This cruise only works when there is 0V in that ground. You tap brakes, system shuts off.
I ended up using a simple micro switch on the brake lever to give it the proper ground.

    In other news...Slugmobile:
Found the source of some light smoking coming from the rear of the engine under the intake when cold starting and warming up.
Thought it might be valvecover oil but not that lucky.
When installing the header I had one bolt hole that was a bit damaged from the old stud. The new stud I gooped with threadsealer and didn't think much of it. Well, that lower stud on #1 is pushing out some coolant. And worse yet, since it is on #1 there isn't enough clearance with the elbow on the header to remove it (-I don't think so anyway).
I should have got that bolt hole helicoiled I guess.
Now I wonder if there is any way to do something with it in the car.
I wonder if I could take that all loose from the back without removing the head.
Or better yet, I wonder if I could just run with it like that and fix it when I do the new body swap in a year!

I really thought the thread sealer would be fine. I think Slug is mad at me...

    Thanks Brian & JT.
When I said door pieces I meant the ones at the glass, but I may go ahead and do the wide molding also.
That rear quarter window trim was even rusting. Now it looks presentable.

Slugmobile: The fruits of yesterday's labor...

But first, a quick explanation of why I had to labor over Slug...
I found the lower exhaust manifold studs were leaking coolant. Originally I thought it was just the one that had loose threads, on #1 cylinder. But I found thst 3 of the 4 were leaking.
So I started taking her apart and figured I'd try to do the job without removing the head.
    ...
While the header was off the car, I figured I'd do a bit more work on it to soften the flange edges left on the inside. Also figured I'd try to match up some ports that looked off just slightly.
I don't want to say how many hours this was, and I wish the pics actually did justice.

    Finished putting Slug back together.
New intake/exhaust gasket wasn't terribly difficult in the car, but wasn't easy either. yesterday got the intake, header, turbo, and lines reinstalled.

today got the coolant topped off, the bov JB welded back on, and painted the insulation wrap on the downpipe. Fine bits of fiberglass were flying off so I wanted to seal that stuff up. Bought some VHT Flame paint rated up to 2000 deg F. Got the downpipe reinstalled and the paint cured.

So far, things look good. Will know in a couple days if those studs are going to still spit coolant. But I hope it fixed. I don't have the patience to do that job over again!

    Slugmobile:
Got under her today to check out the exhaust studs in the head, and to try and diagnose some noises. Studs look good and back of motor is dry. Yay!
Found or I think I found my clunking in the suspension at times.

Good thing I looked into that today. Might not have stayed in much longer!

    That ends the good news...
So after registering for SDAC and working on her I was feeling like maybe even though I still have a ton to do before Indy, that it all might work out....
Except, when I got to work I found my valvestem on a LF tire was leaking. So I tried to make it 6 miles back home before it was flat... (we all know where this is going...)
It didn't make it. What's worse is when it did finally let go I had to get to a safe spot. So I pretty much ruined a year old General Altimax HP.
Now I'm going to have to buy a pair of tires and try to squeeze them getting installed and all my valvestems replaced before trekking to Indy. Along with everything else on my list of to-do stuff.
Sometimes I think these cars don't like me!

I thought you were going to say you ruined a custom wheel that is actually hard to duplicate, unlike a General Altimax. So it doesnt seem that bad from that point of view.

Well, I'll know for sure on that when they spin the wheel. But no, it didn't get chewed at least.
Several years ago I tried contacting Carl Tapias at Long Island Rim Repair to see if I could get a spare or two, but never heard back. These 4 are all there is...

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)

Well the bad news just keeps coming...
A couple/few days ago I put in the accufab AFPR, 3bar map, boostbutton smec, and disabled the RRFPR.
Bump the fuel press to 55psi over manifold. But the secondary fuel pump started leaking on the inlet.
Tried to fix with new hose and clamps but would continue to leak.

Also today I went to install the new radiator fan motor a damaged the blades. The aluminum piece is stuck on the motor shaft.

I'm trying one last thing here on the fuel leak first. If no work I need to sort out or I won't be able to make it.

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)

I won't get a part I need to redo Slug's secondary fuel pump inlet until Thursday.
I think what I'll do for now is bypass the secondary pump for now so at least I can continue to troubleshoot a few other things.
The other option might be to install the walbro 255 that is meant for Mini in Slug. Then I could eliminate the second pump altogether for now. That kinda takes away some of the Gus'ness though
But it would help me be able to run at sdac.
I need to get this sorted out. Worst case I'll just have to go back to the stock computer and fuel setup.

Re: Intro and Update: Slugmobile and Mean Mini! (long read, but worth it)

    Been a while since updating.
    SLUGMOBILE:
ok, short story is barrly cobbled together for SDAC and have been working to sort out a few issues keeping me from racing.
The big problem is I need some help with datalogging and tuning. I'm learning MPTune and MPScan but it is just too slow.
Also, I've been finding my coolant a tad low. Looked into that and I believe the leak is at those same exhaust manifold studs I had a previous problem with. So that's just great. The head will need to come off this time. Argh.

    MeanMini:
I have been patiently waiting (at times not so patiently), my parts in order to complete Mini's rebuild and upgrade. She's getting a fancy new turbo with her engine rebuild.
With so many folks going fast in their vans, already having been beaten getting into the 12's, its high time Mini get out there and try to join the 12 second van club.
She's still a long way to go before she races again but maybe SDAC 24 will be her turn to go. I hope its reasonably close.
Anyway I can now share some turbo p0rn...
On the right is what was on Mini at some point (although this turbo actually just came out of Slug recently), the standard S60. And on the left, fresh from the laboratories at TU, her new turbo.
