I don't know if change is the right word. You will need to add two new wires, splice into an existing one, and move two more of them around in the connectors at the LM. You will also need a different LM. It's not like you need to swap wiring harnesses or anything though. Really a pretty easy job on that front.

You can run any turbo motor without the IC if you keep the boost at the minimum WG setting in my experience. That's about 6-7PSI.

If you know what you're doing (or at least have a buddy that does), and have all the tools and parts accounted for (triple check that list), and have a good selection of parts stores and junkyards close by (because you didn't check that list well enough), the swap can be pulled off in a couple days. Well, actually it took four days, but most of the work was done in the early mornings and late evenings because it was 112 degrees, and we were working on a concrete driveway next to a light colored house with no shade at all. But that's beside the point.

But Ray and I did the full conversion. Started with a bone stock '86 TI car, swapped in an '88 TI long block, '88 TII turbo, manifolds, rad/IC, airbox/hoses, '87 TII computer, '88 A-520/shifter/cables/axles.

The wiring isn't exactly complex, although the Daytonas don't have the advantage of the extra hole in the firewall to run wires through like the L-bodies have. The one hole they do have is clear behind the strut tower, and it's a pain.

I don't mean to be a jerk while answering your next question so don't take it that way.

If you are taking the thermostat housing to the shop, there is no way I would recommend you attempt to convert your car to TII. Keep it TI and enjoy driving it.
Nothing wrong with JB Weld when used for the right repair,

That's too bad. I know there are a couple members in the Memphis area who are great guys. Now that I think about it, there are some guys on the site in the eastern half of the state too.
