Not sure on ACR wheels, but pretty sure we tried pumpers and they wouldn't fit.

Has anyone had problems with removing the hump off of the strut tower to gain easier access to the adjustments for camber? Has anyone measured the maximum change in camber with the use of the top plates on one of our cars? I'll need to decide by tomorrow whether to cut or not. I'm leaning toward grinding the middle hole larger to eliminate the hump.

No cutting or grinding yet. Rich is sending me a template and some reinforcement rings. I'll probably do that project when I get back from SDAC.

Interested to see how that works out. When I watched your guys install vid I was wondering how you could adjust the camber plates in the car.

There are a couple options for it. One of them involves installing a spacer below the strut tower and above the camber/caster plate which gives enough room to make the adjustments from what I understand. You can also drop the strut down enough to get a tool in there, which is obviously more of a pain. The final option is to cut the strut tower.

Cutting the hole larger sounds better to me.

If you don't mind modifying the car I agree cutting will give the best results and allow for the most adjustment.

Tom Allard did it on his RWD conversion:

I am not sure how he cut it out.

I recommend using a cutting template and a hole saw to get the best looking round hole. I have a few aluminum templates left from the early camber plate days I sent Cordes one yesterday so he should have them shortly. The template just bolts on the bottom side like the camber plate and provides a center hole for a hole saw center bit to keep it centered.

Adding a bead of weld around the inside and outside of the ring would be even better.

    Quick improvement update...

I just got the new style rear height adjuster wedge adapter blocks back from the machine shop.

The blocks adapt a BC threaded height adjuster to match the shocks.

This is the next evolution of the rear adjusters and should be nicer than my original welded steel ones!

This makes the rear setup with BC shocks and height adjusters all match and look great.

Yeah, making the hole look nice would be the hardest part.

To cut the strut towers out, I nested 2 hole saws. I used a smaller one that fit inside the current hole, and then nested that saw inside a larger one that cut the hole out the size I wanted. It took a while. It made a mess (I suggest a vacuum to get rid of all the metal shavings). I did use lube, but it still took a while. You have to use a powerful drill (I ended up with a 1/2" chucked Dewalt with the extra handle on it!), so be careful because it'll wreck your wrists! I don't know that I ever got those 2 hole saws apart. I think they are still on the same adapter in the bottom of my tool box!

Wow, that was some fast shipping. The rings and templates look great too. I'm half tempted to install these in the lot on Saturday.

Sweet, Cordes is giving a free demonstration. Someone bring him a clip-on microphone.

I've started voicing over most of my videos. I do need a shotgun mic and a lapel mic.

I did my towers a few years ago, and used a hole saw. Now that I have a plasma cutter, I would highly recommend it, instead.

Definitely tape and cover the entire engine compartment, before drilling. You will never be able to get rid of some of the filings, and they will rust.
