Wow, there must be a few of those out there, I found one this week too:

And I'm betting the one you found even has one of these in it:

Looks too good to be factory...it looks like it was made by a real craftsman

Wow Warren! Maybe Ma-Mopar snuck a few of these out as magazine testers!? Crazy how new and clean they look though after all these years. Hmm.

Yeah really!! I'll bet it flows WAY better than the stock upper.

Baseline data logs were captured yesterday, headed out to the garage to work on getting it installed now...

Simon, I think I just found some early prototype build-stage pictures of the piece deep from within Highland Park!

It looks as though it was designed to be a high flow, shorter running, direct bolt on replacement upper intake! It even appears to utilize a full 2" port opening so the lower intake can be hogged out somethin' fierce to match up to it! Wow!

Got the head pulled off and did a quick test fit:

Fits good so far, just had to watch the positioning of the injector harness and the TPS connector.

It's similar, but obviously can't be identical and still achieve what I want the intake to do, and that is shift the powerband to the right, yet not kill the low end with super short runners like most modified one piece intakes end up. That and tapering the plenum makes it end up appearing shorter than the stocker, even though it's not.

Thank you much. The top ribs are actually identical width and spacing to a stock intake manifold.

And the TB is in the stock location, orientation, and angle in reference to the intake parting flange. Which means that it is a bolt in affair to your current charge plumbing, TB cable and wiring, etc.

Also all NPT ports are in stock location in both vertical height, and horizontal location. I'll be testing one on an L body here soon to verify that there won't be any firewall clearance issues with the vacuum fittings.

It's also about 3/16" shorter overall than the stock intake, which is good since I for one, for whatever reason, had my stock two piece rubbing my drain shield on my Charger's hood vent.

Also, the intake is made of one sheet of .125" aluminum, broke into the shape seen. So there are minimal weld seams, and they are welded on the INSIDE as well as the outside wherever possible (each corner of the intake, inside of the TB flange, etc).

Of course. Just as soon as there is some good fitment and performance feedback from Warren. If it wakes up his car as well as it did mine, I'm thinking lots of people with two peices on their car are goign to be wanting one.
