    Cheap lightweight compact battery.

I was researching batteries because im going to be running a compact one in my neon and came across this.

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...me-information

Turns out Deka manufactures for a lot of different companies, and their Deka line is really cheap. Although the 325 CCA battery is sold as a powersports battery it should be able to be used with my neon. And they person testing the deka 20 found that it really had about 500cca.

Anybody else use a Deka battery. I can get one off ebay for about 70 bucks, and they may be as good as an oddysey.

How is it working? Is it a 2 stroke? I bet a low compression 2.4 would take about the same amount of amps to crank as large 2 stroke.

I use to use a $20 lawn tractor battery in my neon. I cant rember the specs (It was lower then my dads "rule of thumb") and never had a problem with it starting. It did have a problem low capacity. My radar detector would kill it in a couple days. Other then that, it was great.

I use a 340CA lawn tractor battery. They cost about $70 and last 2 years. 1 year if you forget to remove it and it freezes.

very well. It's old, maybe 5 years, but I keep it on a maintainer all winter.

    Re: Cheap lightweight compact battery.

Deka makes great batts, they are known for there AGM batts in car audio. I just bought a 65 series 930cca/75 AH Diehard Platinum(made by Deka) for my other car audio install.

I have a small batt in the Spirit, but it has limited comforts, but the small batt has no issues

BTW 340cca lawnmower batt for $70 seems like alot, unless its AGM.

Advance auto sells 300cca lawn mower batts for like $35, I think they even go onsale for $30.
