    Talking BIG valve ported/polished G-head

The head flowed over 200cfm on the intake side. New anti-drop valve guides, comp cams conical valve springs and retainers, big-valves and bigger seats were installed. All port work was meticulously done. Head was flowed numerous times during the process. Vendor's big valve ported heads are $1400 bare. This is a slamming deal for a low mileage head(2k miles) with all the work done to it. I had to raise my rev limiter on my 2.5 because I was pegging it very easily.

    $800 plus shipping

Had to search for my old numbers. Posted them above. Local shop/turbo Dodge guy did the work. Originally had purchased a head from a vendor, but was very dis-pleased and had the work done locally.

Agreed. I think the head on my car flowed 200 at .500, so that's great it flows over 200 at .400 lift. If I get one of these jobs soon, I would be interested in the head. Mine is showing it's age with 125K miles on it and eventually it will need a rebuild.

These are the 44mm intake and 37mm exhaust valves that require the larger seats to be installed. The valves almost touch each other.

So it was a new head and has 2000miles or it has 2000miles on new port/valve work?

    Re: BIG valve ported/polished G-head

It wasn't a brand new casting. 2k miles since the larger valves and port work. To my knowledge, new g-castings are un-available.

Good luck with that. I found the best one(core) I could at the time and went from there.

    Re: BIG valve ported/polished G-head

Wow! That head SCREAMS on the intake side. Obviously every flow bench is different, so the numbers can only be compared to what's been done on that bench, but the "standard" is 28" of vacuum IIRC. Is that what was used? The exhaust side isn't bad, either, but it's hard to get decent flow there. Overall it looks GREAT and I'd bolt that sucker on in a second if I had the $$$ to nab it!

    Re: BIG valve ported/polished G-head

I don't recall what the set-up was, but I was very, VERY pleased with the outcome. Flow #'s aren't everything, but they atleast give an idea of what kind of improvement you can expect. Someone will have a very nice head!
