I thought I would post an update on the car.
I was having a problem with a miss fire above 6000rpm. I thought I had it fixed when I switched out 3 bar map with another one. The miss fire came back and I had tried everything. I even changed out the valve springs and it was still there.
So I decided to drop the rpm by changing the trans gears back to stock (3.05 final ratio). The car ended up liking the change and has run 11.89 @ 118.80. The 60' are suffering with 1.95's.
I ended up gaining 4 mph by upping the timing. This g-head really wants a bunch of timing.
Back to the misfire, I think I found it now. The center coil post on top of the distributor cap was loose. The coil wire was wobbling all over. I was running a cap and wires from Richard Bryant. I ordered a new set from him. He now makes some slick terminals that just snap right in. With the new cap and wires, the car revs right to 7000 now.
About 30 runs on the car this year, the trans has been holding up. (knock on wood). I'm running ATF+4 and haven't been doing a burnout before the run. Not doing a burnout is probably hurting the 60' but the trans needs to stay together.
I hope to get out to the track this Friday night for some cam timing testing.
