If I misconstrued I apologize, I though her comments were directed at me personally with malice. If I re-read her first post, its intent the other way, 'I agree.'

I'll give you 64 years for the Suburban as they weren't made in 43, 44, or 45.
I respectfully disagree on the corvette. Production was never interrupted. I forgot about the war years, but I was thinking these went overseas. SO really......

No vette for the 1983 model year. They skipped a year.

The bug went for a total of 72 years. Although VW says 58 as they don't count the Nazi built cars. The first US version ceased production in 1979 and it was only available in central and south American until it returned to the US in 1998.

It was a general statement, I realize there are some cars that have been produced for a very long time. The point was that it is a very short list of vehicles. Really suprised you didn't mention the Jeep.

I will say this, it won the first pony car war and it will win the second one. Sales of the new camaro are already dropping and they are hitting the used car lots. The Challenger will never beat the Mustang in sales and Chrysler realizes that, which is why it is more of a cruising car than a pony car.

I know that there was no 83, but production ran long for the 82 and 84 picked up in the normal time of 83.

    .
Technically, there were a 44 1983 Corvettes produced. None were sold to the public and 43 of them were crushed. The lone remaining one is on display at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY.

Very true. My point stands, production NEVER ceased with the corvette.

Camaro had a late production for 70, Mustang for 64 (I think) and 100s of other cars, but no STOP like the Camaro had after 2002 or Suburban in the War years.

I am sure if you made GM the right offer, you could.

I like the original post in this thread more than every post that followed it (some much better than others, of course).

Good race! Here's hoping your next thread doesn't get dumped on!
