It's better to use the 2.5 T1 auto smec than the 2.2 T2 manual smec because the increase in displacement will cause you to run too lean on the 2.2 smec.
alrite, what mite i have to change or adjust 2 make it run good?
Your best bet will be to get a 89 2.5L T1 5spd computer. The auto computer will work, but it will have some idle issues. I would not recommend running the 88 TII computer as it has more timing advance that can cause detonation with the 2.5L. Also the injectors are the same size between the TII, and the 2.5L T1. Good luck with your swap, I had a 2.5L converted to TII and it was a lot of fun to drive.

Or you could buy one of my socketed SMEC logic boards and get a chip for it from Boostbutton.
Any 2.5 cal will work, minor tweaks but the auto will work better with a 5 speed than vice versa due to the auto needing a higher idle in gear.

butchsuppe how much would u want for a socketed 2.5 manual smec? n how much would it run 2 get a chip??
Check out Boostbutton.com for some prices on the bare chips. Getting one with a cal burned on it is a bit more, but knowing you have the right cal is some good peace of mind.
