    Rear brake Q: '89 Shelby vs. '91 R/T

I've forgotten many things over the years, and one of them is that I cannot remember if the '89 Shelby Daytona's 11" rear brake setup is identical to that of a '91 Spirit R/T.

Reason I ask, is that in '07 when my current project took a halt for 4 years, I had the rear brake setup from a 1989 Shelby Daytona (actually, from an '89 GTC T-II car) and '91 R/T scattered around on my workbench in the garage. Now, I can't remember what's what. I do have a set of rear rebuilt calipers in the box from back then.

I seem to recall that they are one in the same, from rotors to caliper and pads.... correct?

the 89 brakes are on a different knuckle and use a different caliper mounting than the spirit r/t I believe.

The 91 knuckles have bolt in bearings and a dropped balljoint hole for better roll center.

I've never noticed a difference in any of them that I've pulled.

89 11" rear disc brakes have no differences from the R/T brakes. 89 Shelby and GTC cars used the same rear brakes as later model cars optioned with 11" brakes.
