being .040 over won't make much of a difference in displacement. what's your top end like?

    What are your goals?

Based on your lack of dp etc, go S60.

I'd say S60. It'll give you more power under the peak.

yea if i had a 2.2 hands down the s60. but i didnt know how the s60 would be on the 2.5. the compressor wheel is smaller on the s60 than the holset. turbine is almost the same but holset is bigger.

    Re: Holset vs Super 60

id much rather use a REAL holset turbo, because if s60 comes close to topping out at that power level, and you decide you want more, then what? also, since its an omni, WITH A 2.5, i think you could use a little bit more turbo lag so you can actually get a bit of traction, and with the holset, you'll have a little more top end to play with (you'll be able to run higher boost levels with your low flowing head, im not saying its bad, just not high flowing)... what are you running for an intake?

i have a g-pop s60 i bought off some guy who had it on his honda before he cracked his pistons. it looks real low mileage, but it could prob use a rebuild because i have know idea how much boost he was running or how he cooled down the turbo. if you want to make a deal, let me kno, i was only going to use a s60 because of the stockish appearence for all the smog natzi's around my area, id much rather run a holset...

That is quite possibly the biggest bunch of nonsense I have read on this site.
What is a 'john madden bus'? and why would you apply multiple ones to a female dog?

Anyway.. IF its a t4 flanged holset, only 1 bolt needs to be modified and that would be the splayed bolt. I put an h1c on a dodge flange and needed to C cut the splayed bolt and it mounted up just fine.

its a hy35. t3 flange. and a john madden one of the greatest football coaches of all time. example "i put 2 bus lengths on that corvette last night!" now with the john madden bus. example "i put 2 john madden buses on that corvette last night!" just a figure of speech.

Yup! But I bet the 2.5 would spool the Holset much easier due to the displacement.

im thinking the hy35 will be good. i figure it will be cheaper to do the holset rather the s60 and have room to play.

running a slightly ported 1 piece. i think ur right about the lag=traction on low end. with the stock t2 garrett it would blow the tires away through 3rd lol

    Re: Holset vs Super 60

HY35 has the smaller turbine housing, similiar to a .63 housing, if you have fab skills, I would use that, if not, then put the S60 on but you will be maxing it out to get your goal.

    Re: Holset vs Super 60

If I can spool an HX35 on a 2.2, you should be able to spool an HY35 on a 2.5. Mind you mine doesn't hit till 4500, and I'm running excessively ported everything.
