Ok, so i'm doing it tonight, i'm going to put the damn car back together if it kills me. I miss the damn thing.
So, my question is this. Does anyone have a pictures or can relate to me the correct sequence of spacers/washers on the alternator mounting bolt?
When i took the mount apart one of the washers/spacers fell to the ground and when putting it back on, i couldn't seem to get the pulley to line up correctly.
I managed to get the belt on, and it ran for a while and seemed fine, but when i look at it, it appears crooked and i can't for the life of me imagine its good for the long term health of the car. As it sits right now, the 3 "washers" are on the far side of the bolt, with the spacer going into the bracket.
I have the 160 amp alternator from Lugert if that makes any difference. Any help is appreciated, i know i can get it back together "good enough", but i'd like to be able to enjoy this car with minimal "fear" of things breaking..so if you know the correct combination, your help is appreciated.
Maybe i'm just being paranoid, take a look, let me know what you think.
Thanks guys, i know i ask a lot of dumb questions, but every day i walk by this car and i'm starting to miss driving it...
