    1970 Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird Restoration

I will be restoring a 1970 Plymouth Superbird 440+6 bbl so far I've done some research and I've drawn up a custom intake manifold. The i've placed corck screw type vanes that creates a vortex as the fuel enters the intake manifold were i placed a screw type supercharger under the the 3 two barrels so it will compress both the air and fuel mixture which vaporizes the fuel mixture and compresses the fuel and air at the same time before forcing it into the engine creating more power.

I need an original 1970 Plymouth Numbers matching 440 6 pack with an original Four speed trans Sport Coup not convertible. It has to be CHEAP. I don't care if its sitting in some field rusted out as long as the frame is good.

I will be restoring a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird 440+6 All Numbers matching for his 55th or 60th Birthday so if anyone knowes of any 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner Superbird 440 six packs that needs serious TLC for under $5,000 like in a salvage yard or something like that i would apreciate it.

I know someone with a decent nose cone (all there, no holes) that needs to be completely re-done.
I think he may let that go for under $5000.

Best of luck to you. Restoring a car like that truly illustrates the subjectivity of the word cheap.

Good luck with that, you might get a rotten 68 runner with a 383 for $5k.

I will guarantee if anyone on here or anywhere knew what a superbird was and it could be had for $5k complete wouldn't let that thing sit for 2 hours without being on a trailer back to their home.

    I had a chance to buy a 440-4V 4 speed with 45,000 miles for $3300.

About 15 years ago my dad came across a killer deal (even then) for a full set of Superbird parts for under the 5k mark including nose, wing, front fenders, hood with an ugly 6 pack scoop, cluster and a console. That was 15 years ago. We built this with those parts.
Finding a burned, wrecked, rusted, parted over and rolled car with nothing left but a VIN number for under 15k is doing good on a Superbird. Best route on a budget would be to go with a clone. You can make a *decent* clone for around 30k these days. Depends on what you buy though.
A real (original)loaded nose goes for around 13k today in decent shape. Wing is worth 3-5. Hood is about 5k etc.
You can get a fiberglass nose and window plug, wing, wing washers, modify coronet fenders, get all the hardware to make the nose funcitonal, plus all the normal expensive muscle restoration stuff and have a cheap clone for 25k if you do most of the work yourself.
Now you can step up to real aluminum parts (like they were from the factory). I know Gene Gregory makes an aluminum nose and you can load it up for about 7k. Repro wings are still around 1k+, misc brackets will cost you another couple grand, chrome a pillar covers are a couple hundred, a good 440 will cost around 3k to build up correctly and a correct holley 6 pack set up is around 1,500+ if it doesnt need a rebuild kit. Plus you have then the hood, fenders, decals, linkages, drivetrain etc. still.
    All in all... goodluck...

That "Superbird" convertible is killer. There is a guy around here that has a blue "Superbird" convertible. I drool every time I see it. I'd rather have one of those than the real thing.

Why would you care if it's a numbers matching car if you are going to modify the motor? Also, why would you care if it's a 440+6 if you are modifying it? Any 440 can be built into what you are proposing.

Also, there is no such thing as a numbers matching Superbird with a 440+6 and 4spd for cheap. Even sitting I'm a field rotted 1/2 way up the doors it's still going to fetch $30k.
