Are they specific to '90? I've got an '87 and an '88 available. I *think* the mounting tabs are broken on both of them, but I know they work.

Bummer.
Yes, the 1990 controllers are specific for that year. Not only in shape and mounting, but electrically also. The plugs on them are the same, but an older controller will not work in a 90 and vice versa.
Last time I checked they still had them at the dealer, but were well over $100. If you see a 90 Daytona in the bone yard, ALWAYS get the headlight controller, unless the lights are up, then pass on it as it most likely is bad.
The 1990 controller sits on to the left of the steering column near the floor. It is squarish in shape.
BTW, for the 1990 model year, the headlamp control module only does half the job, the body controller tells it what to do. So it is possible the body controller may be at fault also.

Well, tell you what, I'm on the hunt in the 'yards for a '90 as I'm looking for a tranny mount and a bunch of interior parts, so if I find something I'll let you know.
If you cant find one PM me and I will try to do you a good price on new but it asks me if it has time delay
Oh, I remember now, that is one of the errors in the 90 parts system. The numbers shown for the 90 module are the same numbers that come up for the 89 & before. Just like the pic shows the wrong module (it shows the one shaped to fit the dash speaker hole). And the delay circuit was moved to the body controller in 90, vs being in the module in the years before.
The one I have here for the 90 has this number molded into it. 4373531
This one is used and I'm not sure on it's reliability, and I have already started working on it to rebuild it (new relays, diodes, etc). The one in the car doesn't work in cold weather (only when it is inconvenient though). Works in the driveway, just not once I get where I'm going so I can come home. I've lost track of how many times I've driven home on the light from the fog lamps. I know I can crank the lights up manually, but I get tired of doing that.

I just removed the offending module and left the lights up.....I've kind of got used to the lights being up and it don't look to bad anymore.Originally Posted by sdac guy
Kind of late to respond to this, but, yes the 90 contorller is unique, but not just to the g-bodies. The j-body headlight gizmo is the same unit, part number and everything. I am using a 90 j-body in my daytona.
