You know whats a ----- is that after i said i wanted a corsica ltz i found one one state over with a 3.1/5spd factory combo!! LTZ 3.1 is a fraction of ltz, and factory 5spd??? Well, afaik.. only ~70 ever made.

I emailed the guy.. it got sent to the yard the day before!

On the 442, i saw one in person once.. i approached the guy about it and he seemed REALLY surprised that i knew what it was.

Thats the same basic platform as the quad4 /5spd grand am i lost to.

about 5 years ago my 88 lebaron was auto/2.2/14psi/mistu intercooled not even on a cal. i thought it was pretty quick. So my boys cuz had a 98 gtp which i thought i could take.....wrong i got the doors blew off by this kid. this was a race a didnt want to lose to either. but i did and all three times i got my arse sent home with my tail between my legs.

not really a race but I was in my 5.9 grand cherokee passing quite a few people on a 2 lane when I ran into the brand new gmc SUv[I believe acadia],I went to pass and he pulled out and just plain pulled away from me.I just wish I could have caught him at a redlight so I could have changed the story on him

Love it! Power-oversteer in a dually, going STRAIGHT, is the SHIZNIT.

Only races i can think of where i got beat that actually surprised me were in slow cars...

I.e. one time a quad-4 grand am beat my dynasty.

Another time a dodge monaco held off the dynasty, didnt really beat it.

But thats vs stock 3.3, trapped ~84mph on a good day. Everything else ive raced, nothing unexpected happened, unless you count the other people not expecting it .. i guess i really only try to go for the ones i know will be close.

I also hate to say it but that quad 4 should easily outrun you. I`ve easily outrun stang gt`s in a 91 cutlass calais international 4 door.If these cars had turbo`s they would be awesome

me and a couple buddys were heading to town in a 03 chevy PU were were screwing off going threw the gears a couple times hes got just an intake and exhaust nothing special when sum dude with a mullet in a 89-93 dodge diesel longbox was an old forest service green truck that was sprayed tan with the paint flakeing off looked like its been hauling wood for years pulled up next to us and floored it a couple times so we lined back up with him and we both floored it and he just slowly kept pulling away jammin all of those 5 speeds at the same time iam giveing my buddy crap cuz hes a chevy guy lol he was so pissed. Same buddy in his chevy truck were at a stoplight when some old guy in a yellow avalanch pulls up next to us with big purple lakers stickers all over it "we didnt even try to race" but my buddy floored it as soon as the light turned green and so did the other guy and just tottaly spanked my buddy and i dont even think he knew we were trying to race him once he took off like a bat outta hell

I had one recently, pretty embarassing as well. At the time my shelby lancer had a stock turbo, ported manifolds +20 injectors 3" full exhaust and stock intercooler. I put the injectors in as I was getting a new computer the next day that would work with them. The computer that was in the car was a MP stage 2 computer that just never seemed to run the car right, always felt incredibly slow in high rpm's. Anyhow, I'm driving home from work and some rusted out pile of 1995 Honda accord came rolling up next to me. We raced 3 times and he got me every time by about a car link. Wound up getting my computer the next day and blew the doors off a different accord of the same variety. In hindsight I should have let him pass, now I just sound like every other Honda owner complaining about a lost race because my car wasn't "tuned".

"Raced" a late model Dodge minivan from a light day before yesterday because I knew he was gonna floor it to cut me off before his lane turned into a turn-only lane. 1st, short shifted...second gear, too much throttle and blew the tires off through the entire gear and only barely got ahead...he had to tuck in behind me. A homeless guy crossing the street at the light about crapped himself.

I was somewhere near Vaughan last month and a late 90s Corolla sedan gets in my sights, lowered, tint, spoiler, spendy low profiles getting 2000 miles a set 'coz of the camber, stereo booming. Has LE badging and a stock looking muffler/tailpipe. W00t, embarrass-able ricer it looks like, automatic, base 1.8... . We're in quite a bit of traffic, and he's trying to race EVERYTHING it seems like, but traffic is heavy... I know most of it is headed to a major highway intersection and we have a bit of a countryfied stretch after that, on this 4 lane... He's not really getting anywhere, so I manage to work my way alongside him and timed it just right to get beside him on a red light, where I thought the road would open up a bit...

Well it hits green and I get the jump on him and lead by a length up into second, but he's hauling me in, and by the time we're doing 40 he's coming past and has a length at 50, and I'm off the throttle, 'coz we're seeing tail lights, and it's pointless going unlegal when you're losing...

I knew as soon as he got on it at launch that it wasn't a stock motor in there... sounded too good, I'd caught some buzz from being near him in traffic and thought it was a ricer exhaust, of course I should have written that off when I saw the stock (small!) tailpipe. He was either being real stealth with that, or hadn't got round to doing that yet... oh and it probably had a 5 speed. No idea what motor, I'd have to guess something with at least 140HP if just a swap no mods, or maybe up to 170 (normally) and corked by the exhaust system.

LE Should have been a closer match to the Escort, maybe a tad slower, which has about ~120ish HP at the moment, and the Escort should be a tad lighter, plus he probably had 200lb in speakers and dress-up crap.
