    Re: 1995 Plymouth Voyager Turbo

We went for a brisk drive at 17-18 psi (10.5afr btw, no tuning yet) and the driver side axle inner CV joint came apart.. same one as on my van! Looks like it just over-extended and came out of the cage! Kinda scary at 70mph! Had it fixed in another hour or two and it's been going strong since then (this was a week or two ago).

I was wondering if it might have been a car axle... will check engine centering but i dont know if it can be that far off..

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

Sounds like it was a car axle, about one inch difference so that will do it,

We never changed that axle so if it was one it was on there when he got it.

    Re: 1995 Plymouth Voyager Turbo

Probably the funniest part was towing it back with a 1977 Volvo 242DL.

Right now just working on getting the interior back into a good state and trying some different mods to help the A/C work better in the 100+ heat. The sport package bumper covers have been sitting at a friend's shop for quite a while now. They need to get done.
I really want to get it to the track once I'm able to monitor knock counts.

    Re: 1995 Plymouth Voyager Turbo

    Good news everyone!

Took the van to the track last Wednesday and was able to run it on slicks! Only, Mr. 568 wasn't too keen on the whole idea.......

Definitely a first for me. Luckily I have a spare 523 in the garage. Not too bummed out about it because I'll have some cool mementos.

    Re: 1995 Plymouth Voyager Turbo

WTF??? That's the first time I've seen that too. Do you have a bobble strut? I managed to break the mount bracket on my auto van a few years back. That's the piece between the tranny and the front mount... so naturally I assumed that was the "fuse" (Broke the lugs off at the tranny end)

    Re: 1995 Plymouth Voyager Turbo

No wheel hop at all, happened when I shifted to third. I'm guessing it cracked on launch and finished off a little further down the track.

There is a bobble strut who's quality is doubious. Haven't taken it apart yet to see what the full story is.

Oh there's a thing, that might have been hairlined or damaged already from being twisted or stressed due to having that wrong axle and the motor misaligned.

I guess you and adam will have to get the welder out and fix that! would think the case had a crack in it well before that happened and with repeated stress, finally let go.

That is repairable, but I wouldn't use it in anything but a stock configuration after the fix.

Yah, a stock configuration, with maybe some pansies, in the front yard, as a novelty planter.

It's still a usable case, it just needs welded back together.
