86 GLHT-Dash goes out with lights on and no dash lights?

Intermittantly, turn on the headlights and the dash goes dead, no gauges and no lights, bang on the instrument panel and sometimes they come back on, what am I looking for?

Loose connection at the cluster or the cluster pins are loose.

You got it, the pins are like a rivet, over 1/2 were loose so I took out my trusty soldering iron and soldered them in, fixed.

Nice. Both clusters I had were the same way and soldering fixed them, too.
