    Big hole in block

Have big hole in my 2.2 block, how can I know if piston, crank ect still good?

What is better choice: Find a common block and rebuild it with my old
    stuff
: Use 2,5 and rebuilt it

Have 2.2 t2 head, intercooler set up

I've never rebuilt block can I find info for how to do this

    Re: Big hole in block

Post up pics but depending on what happened, 99% of the time, everything will be junk, except the pistons and rods that didn't break off.

You need to decide what your goals are. Street duty at light boost, lots of boost, more off the line power and what car are you using.

A CB is the better choice and if you have a heavy, auto car, 2.5 is the way to go. Some like 2.5's in anything,

Buy some books on rebuilding, surf google, check our KC, look for back issues of Hot Rod and Car Craft etc.

    Re: Big hole in block

My goal is have a toy on road, look 15 psi, actually have ported t2 head 3 inch exhaust,rad/intercooler, ceramic clutch...car is omni

My plan is find 2.5, rebuilt it and putt it on 2.2 head I have, I've heard I will need to play with timming...

Need your idea to find best mix or what to do.

Some say a 2.5 L body is too much, others love it.

You will need a new calibration if you go 2.5, which you can get from here.
