'88 CSXT.
Alt won't charge. Two alts tested good at Oreilly's. Both no worky on car. Grounds are good. Hot to battery good. No power on either field wire.
I think the VREG is in the SMEC, right? So do both field wires go to the SMEC? or does the SMEC switch the ground and the hot field wire come from somewhere else?
The field wires look to be green and blue. I've got FSM's but there are across town in the shop. Before I dig them out for the wiring diagrams, can anyone be of assistance?

ha ha. No, it's not the SMEC. It's the stupid teenager:
1.) He installs a deck in the car. It works. He's happy.
2.) The deck blows a fuse.
3.) To fix the problem, he pulls a random fuse from the fuse block and moves it to power the radio.
Which fuse did he pull? #13. The fuse that powers the J2 splice which sends 12 volts to the alt field windings.
So, he hasn't driven for a couple weeks because the alt wouldn't charge. All because he pulled a random fuse and forgot instead of simply grabbing a new one out of the drawer in the garage.

lol, sweet deal, one day he will learn, learn to grab a handfull everytime he is at the junkyard
