LEDs - Anyone got a good source?

So I bought a Taylormade carbon fiber fender eliminator kit for the Honda about a year ago. See attached pic. The second pic shows the big hanging stock fender/plate holder.

The lower oval LED is the running light while the strip across the top is the brake light. Well the lower oval LED is dead and Taylormade, the manufacturer of the kit had issues with their source and the source quit making them. Taylor made has a "dual intensity" - meaning dual function -upper strip that will operate as both running and as brake light. That's OK but I'd like to fill that lower oval spot with another running light . . .

Dimensions of the oval light are 3 1/8" wide by 1/3/8" tall by 3/4" thick.

Anyway - does anyone have a good source for LEDs?

Some place like mouser or digikey will have something to fill your need. Though you may have to figure out more info about what was originally in there to make sure your replacements work reasonably well.

Re: LEDs - Anyone got a good source?

    Thanks for all the input.

The light fixture was oval or eye shaped and I couldn't find anything in that shape and in the right dimension that would allow a simple R&R.

So, I removed the light fixture and carefully separated the red lens/reflector from its black base; they both are styrene plastic so it was a go slow with wedges don't crack it sort of job. Once I got it open I saw the problem, after the fine multi strand wires went through sealant/grommet they passed through the LED board and on to their solder joints - one of them was broken at its solder joint - vibration.

I re-soldered the joint and then for both the positive and negative wires, I put a dab of clear RTV about 3/8 " from the solder joint to hold the wire, dampen vibration, and take the load off the wire where it gets stiff at the solder joint - in hind sight something that should have been built into the unit.

    Thanks again.

IIRC they're the same bulbs as in a sc so....

    or these: WLED-x5 http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...-x5.htm#photos

of course you can find them cheaper on ebay, but the quality of the bulb varies greatly between sellers...i've had some sh!tty bulbs that burned out, but i've also had decent bulbs. Generally don't go for the cheapest on ebay.
