Soldering Fusible Links - Should I Use A Pen Torch?

I have four new fusible links I am soldering to the A1 feed wire. My 30W soldering iron is not powerful enough to heat the wire and get the solder to flow. How about a pen torch? What do you guys suggest?

yea you will have to solder them cause if you butt connect them it doesn't make a full contact. I have to shack my F-L now to start my car. So, my plans are to cut the insulator of the butt connector and use that as a base and solder. its annoying.
