Cool Too add velocity stacks or not?

My plenum volume is 4.5L, factory has no stacks, just radiused holes, would it be worth it to add them? Discuss.

Re: Too add velocity stacks or not?

I'd say that they would be worth it if you cannot obtain a "proper" smooth transition to the port, maybe they are too close together, or there isn't enough material, can't get the angle to properly form them, etc. I do seem to recall something about lifting the inlets out of the boundary layer, but at the same time I don't recall this being a huge improvement, but something a Pro Stocker would take notice of.

The main reason I would consider adding stacks would be to allow me to fine tune the tuned length of the runner without making the intake a snake's nest, assuming sufficient plenum space... That and saving me the time and effort of forming the shapes manually!

I say do it if you have the time when the intake is open for repairs anyway? clock is ticking though.

My opinion, no data, considerations of underhood space are the main reason that you don't see high raise manifolds and in the case of turbo cars velocity stacks inside plenums. That's why you get bundles of snakes instead of straight shots too. Its always a compromise.

"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary."

"To evolve, you don't need a Constitution. All you need is a legislature and a ballot box . . . . things will evolve as much as you want. All of these changes can come about democratically; you don't need a Constitution to do that and it's not the function of a Constitution to do that."
