    just had a scare

was on my to get lunch like an hour ago and had a quick onramp/boost experience and I looked at my gauges and my oil one was gone. I shut it down and coasted to the breakdown lane. Car was not making any noises, I dont know how long it was like this. i let it sit a second and I recently was redoing a lot fo vacuum and wiring so maybe its just a bad wiring/sending connection. car started up, oil pressure was normal. drove and got lunch, about 5 minutes away from work, the guage goes low again. i do the same thing. got pressure at startup just fine. guage seems lazy, and will drop to low and pickup pressure without any revs just coasting. I really hope this is just electrical. usually when an ishaft fails, it fails right? im going to put an aftermarket oil press gauge when i get a chance.

i am hoping its a loose sending wire

I have not had time, but in the week prior to this issue i did neaten up some of the wiring harness. I am going to bet i have a loose connection at the sender or a wiring gremlin. i am sure if i had a true pressure issue when i was on the highway at 70 and looked down and saw no pressure it would have been the end right there (and i dont know how long it was at 0, so i was lucky!)

The OP Gauge in my new 93 RT likes to play dead too It's done it 3-4 times in the 700 miles since I've owned it. Iam gonna take some contact cleaner to the connectors tomorrow (today I mean, what good is sleep any way at SDAC)

Same here, cleaned some oily gunk out of the connector and have since put 3000+ miles on the car getting it home from SDAC to SoCal. No more guage failures (that Butch noticed anyway)

Replace the sensor if they act up again. They're a common one and cross to the Magnum engines so most dealers should have one on the shelf.
