The Masi motor in my GLHS is 7:1. It really is suprisingly spry off boost. One thing I did notice, put a tank of 100 octaine in it and it won't idle well

So who wants to see a picture of this crank? A local guy has it(one) Coincidentally, he is also a TM.com member. Although he never posts...

    SVTPat whatcha say??

I've read the article a couple times and see no mention of a 7:1 compression ratio?

Stock 2.5 turbo pistons with a stock Lotus head equals about 7:1. I went thru this on my build, hence the need for hybrid pistons.

    Hi All,
I'm glad you liked the pictures! I've never been to the national meet. My name is Pat Melendy, you were thinking of Pat Pedroza. I'm going to be retiring next March, so I hope to start going to all the shows to meet you all! Take care and I'll talk to you soon!

Re: THE one off factory 2.5 TIII, questions!

WooHoo! 4 posts in 4 years Now we're getting somewhere Pat, welcome

Since our SVT friend here is a little quiet about himself, I'll provide some backstory...

About 12 years ago I get a call from a guy that just bought an 85 Laser turbo and wants to know how to do some tuning tricks. he was looking for more power etc, I figured it was another one of those guys that didn't want to spend any money, didn't want to do any work, and didn't want to be active in the club. Back then when TM's were plentiful, I got A LOT of those calls So I answer a few questions for him and figured that would be the end of it. Next day Pat calls again, and three more times that week and pretty much 3-5 times a week-for a couple years Somewhere along the way I mention his name to some drag racers at a few different tracks, turns out more than a few times, the old school guys know who Mr Pat is. They said he is one fine racer and a good freind to have in the pits when you need something Heck, my wife's parents used to both race Mopars in the 60's and 70's They BOTH had cars and used to drag their 3 little girls to the track with them. Guess who they used to pit with?? Yep, Mr Pat. What are the freakin chances?? Pat knew my wife before I did!

Now Mr Pat has a large collection of historic/documented/rare muscle cars (feel free to fill in some blanks here on your next post Bud) but he is quickly falling for the charms of the inline turbo four and since he was raised on Mopar, and they are Mopar, his relationship with FWDs grows until he sells off a dozen or so classics (saved four or five tho didn't you ya sandbagger) and collects that many TM's Only guy I know with more 16V TC's than me? Umhuh, it's him. The Hans Herman Head pics I've posted? Yep, him too. Countless other rare valuble parts and pieces? Also him. Only guy I know with an 11 second Omni, and 11 second classic Mopar (at least one) and an 11 second SVT Mustang? Strangely enough, the same guy, who'da thought So when I ask Mr understated why he doesn't post here more, he thinks it's cause he doesn't have anything that anyone here would want to read about I for one and looking forward to this retirement deal when he has more time for our community

Alan, thats some cool stuff, and it sucks when people stay out of loop like that when in fact they have MUCH usefull background and info they (pat in this case) could have been "talking" about all this time!!!! I am sure amny of us including myself would enjoy your time around here when you start posting up.

Some good stuff! Really cool to saw a billet crank. It looks so basic though with the shape of those counterweights. lol

Worth mentioning in that article, it said it has adjustable headlamps???? That's pretty cool!

Re: THE one off factory 2.5 TIII, questions!

Simon started it and i posted back when he made it. But today i brought it back because i seen on the other site someone mention a factory 2.5 with the 16v head with some info i thought was wrong if he was referring to the same thread so i searched for this to put the link over there for the person to see in case he was talking about the same setup to show it was much more than the 160 hp he stated lol. And while searching the net first for this car i found the link i just posted above about an RT concept and figured i would bring this thread back in such a way i stated above lol.
