Kinda odd it would come with the ext gate tube and no exhaust outlet. Personally I would weld a short bend on it with a V band and then fab the exhaust from there.

Would it be easier to ditch the external gate and go back to internal gate? It looks like the turbo was designed for internal.

With that cylinder head, it might just be the perfect match for an automatic that loads the engine so well. The little man that ported the head was kinda proud of how the porting turned out.

I'm pretty sure when you get it tuned you'll be taking out those +40's because they will be too small. When you do, send 'em back to Memphis. I'll be needing a set soon.

The last two days I did PolyBushings stuff AND called over 30 wrecking yards and visited at least 5 yards looking for a correct 88 turbo harness. Found nothing.

No, my car is a 86 turbo car (logic).
What did you use to convert yours?

86 GLHS ECU and made the overlay harness. Super easy I spent probably 3 hours making all the connections and doing the soldering and I was taking my sweet --- time watching a Tigers game while I did it.

Re: Raffle engine into 1986 factory Turbo wagon

Johnny, you could just add the wires for the AIS and heated O2 sensor like Shelby did on the S-cars, then make sure the pinouts at the LM are the same as an 87TII Daytona and you would be golden on running the 87 TII LM. You may need to run 3 extra wires for an underhood MAP sensor; which would be the easiest route since I suppose you'll be running a 3bar MAP anyhow.

Running and soldering a dozen connections is easier, less time consuming, and less expensive that locating and swapping an entire harness IMHO. Does the '88 harness use the same bulkhead connector at the firewall as the '86?

Re: Raffle engine into 1986 factory Turbo wagon

If you're already log T-1, converting to GLHS is easy with an overlay harness. Add a couple of pin swaps and wires for an external map and you can go to '87 T-II/CSX electronics, which then opens up the door for 3 bar cals.

I'd just convert to '87 T-II/CSX, using the existing factory harness as your base. It's a few hours of work at most.
