    Re: HP Predictions....

I made 239 whp with my van, TIII turbo, own slightly ported head, one piece, ported ex mani, 2.5 dp, 3 inch back from that, full exhaust and tiny ic, stock cal, 29 psi.
    That's... really bad.

I made 212whp on 17psi with stock everything but injectors (+20s) and cal, and a 2.1" exhaust (im not kidding).

I tend to agree with others here that you can cram 250whp through the stock parts without majorly modifying anything.. you will need an exhaust, some injectors, and a lot of boost and good tuning.

Dont push the red button. You hear me?

Why is that bad? Its basically a stock 8 valve engine, stock turbo and stock cal with a tiny IC and pump gas. I fail to see your problem?

The problem is you said 29 psi.. Thats a damn high boost number to make 239whp. If you had said 19 psi i would say 'hey, thats pretty good!'

It was maxed it with a tiny IC. I couldn't get more than 22/23 at the track.

Thing is i'm thinking what's going to limit me will be the stock turbo. Since the bottom end will be built, i'm pretty sure my next bottleneck will be the turbo.

I do NOT want to run race gas, I want it pump gas friendly. I don't mind feeding it meth to keep it pump gas friendly.

That being said, pump gas, meth, stock t3 still looking at 250WHP approximately? I'm thinking that's really not bad considering the car should weigh in about 2800 when i'm done with it.

To make 250 whp with a stock turbo, you have to have the planets aligned, not many have done it.

Remember, boost is a measurment of restriction. Maybe I had some upgrades

To answer the stock turbo max hp, we had a thread like this a while ago and I think I had top honours at 262whp and 337wtq. That was pump 94.

Exactly, no 2 cars are the same and even if they were, I'd bet you wouldn't get the same numbers on the same day.

I think Gary D has top honours, someone said he got 275 whp.

Was that overall stock turbo regardless of how many valves? IIRC I have seen Ken post about a car hitting darn near 280HP, but I don't recall how many valves it had.

I'm not claiming to be the best or anything like that. I just remember being the highest with a stock garrett. I think the thread was about 8 valve engines.

    Re: HP Predictions....

I think with the optimum mix of factory parts (2pc intake, 2.5" swingvalve, 5spd, etc) you could put 250 down with a stock turbo cranked all the way up. A good intercooler and meth would damn sure help.

I havent done it.. but i do think a stock garrett in good working order can move enough air to make that power. Whether it does or not is dependent on the rest of the setup working right.

I searched for it, but could not find the quote I'm thinking of. I know that you aren't trying to brag or anything though. You just tell it how it is.

I kinda remember a thread like that and Jamie's numbers... My Shadow (long block is all OEM parts, unported with MP injectors) should be ~230 at 19psi from 1/4 mph and weight... with more boost and a cooler charge, I can difinitely see Jamie's HP numbers
