I'd say grab a copy of mptuner and the turbonator lm cal for software. The physical install of the ostrich should be very straightforward , I'm sure your buddy can handle it if he's got experience with the ostrich on those other cars. You should read through the mptuner thread before trying to do the cal though, so you're familiar with what needs to be done.
You need a socketed LM, an Ostrich, and run either Dcal or the new MP tuner.

Im going with the ostrich setup too, im excited to get it all hooked up and working, seems to be the most simple way to tune your car without changing chips and tuning on the fly is going to be sweet.

you mean a how-to? it is pretty easy.
in MPTuner, click setup, then com setup. check FTDI, select the port your ostrich is on, and baud 921600. click chip, then read/write. select correct BIN size, click write BIN to chip. select the BIN you want uploaded, click open. that's it!
DodgeZ played around w/ this in my car last night, killed the car once or twice trying to write the changes made or whatever, seems to work pretty slick though once you know what's going on Just make sure you know what's what and how to use it properly before taking off down the road in it, or at least carry a spare chip in case you forget offsets or whatever.
MPTuner does the offsets for you in the chip read/write feature, that's what the BIN size is for. makes it much easier when you are just getting into it (if you aren't familiar with offsets).
Well, I'm not an expert in it by any means, so maybe it was something else. I was just driving and giving feedback But it did shutdown once when he tried to save or something while running. He did figure out what he did and we got it to start up again, and after that it did just fine, made changes while running w/ no hiccups.
