    where to weld o2 bung

my holset has a v band on it, then a half 180 degree bend going straight down. how far from the v band should the o2 bung be? i was told that the one for the wideband should be 12", does that sound right?

    thanks

My old downpipe was about 4", my new one is about 8", both for the WBO2. The 4" distance worked well for years, nto sure why people say 12"?

    Here's where my Innovate is.

Innovate states no more than 900 degrees at the bung. That's why some say to mount it at least 18" away from the turbo. But my d'pipe get's no where near that temp where it's at.

so im putting the o2 6" away from the v band, which is pretty close to what stock is. and the wideband will be 12" away. looks like yours is close to 10-12"

it's at the 1st turn of the stock d'pipe however far that is. Why have 2 bungs? Use the wideband to run the stock electronics

The reason you want it farther down is any liquid will instantly destroy your O2 sensor. So if your car ran way rich or your head gasket blew and dumped antifreeze down the exaust. Also be sure to place the sensor about 70 degree so sensor is above the 90 degree or in the top half of the pipe for the same reason. Mine is about 24 inches down the pipe just before the hollow cat at 70 degree,s. Yes I have killed an O2 sensor and at 95 to replace it I called DynoJet for advice.

Well if you got an Innovate Lc-1 or any other Wideband with a programmable output you can connect that to the stock ECU O2 signal wire and simulate a stock Narrowband signal. Then you just have to run 1 O2 sensor Both my running TD's are set up like this. I just plug the stock hole with the supplied bung plug that Innovate includes and go.

AEM recomends at least 18" IIRC from the downpipe so thats where I put it. It doesnt need to heat up like a stock sensor does.

Also like mentioned put to the side or on top at an angle so water does not settle and soak it.

I use my AEM instead of the 02 sensor.

We use ours 36" downstream on every car. No problems in 3 years. I'm overly cautious and noticed no lag in feedback.

Mine is placed approx 10" from where the downpipe connects, then the evac is another 12" away from that.

Mine is also further than 18 inches, just seemed to workout well there. I am also running the narrow band sim signal with the other hole plugged. Innovate unit.
