    I need pistong rings

So, due to lots of oil burning, and blow by I pulled my head off. Number 1 cylinder seems to be the culprit. The cylinder walls are smooth on all cylinder but #1 had oil on the plug and valves, and the rest are clean. Havnt took the pistons out but I think I can just re-ring and hone the block and I will be good to go.

Any suggestions on what rings to get? These are just stock pistons on a TII. Im putting the car back to stock to sell it.

I have a brand new standard bore set for a T-III. The 1st and 2nd rings are the same, but the oil expander (3rd ring set) is wider.

I believe you just use your original expander/spacer ring as all it does is keep separation of the two oil control rings.

    FS if you're interested.....

I get mine off Ebay. The vendors have them as do parts stores. Prices may vary.

Ive seen alot of them. Just not sure if there are any better brands out there.

Those could be cast aftermarket pistons, they will still use the stock rings. Any brand is fine, just make sure they are turbo rings.

Pulled the pistons. Top ring in number one was in pieces. Luckily no scoring on the walls or pistons. Looks like a re-ring will do the trick. Pistons are Federal Mogul 533P

The pistons are the same. "Federal Mogul" doesn't really make pistons. At Summit, we used to use the FEM prefix for all the Federal Mogul lines. Some "certain" people are held accountable for updating the Summit website... Now all the Federal Mogual pistons are either STL (for hypereuatectic or cast) and TRW (for forged).

Those rings would be an okay choice.

Ok, so the 9 dollar difference and thier the same? Haha way to go summit.

I guessing they are sealed power pistons. Which are made by Federal Mogul

    Re: I need pistong rings

    Ok, took measurment of everythings.

Pistons measure to 3.440" at the skirt

Bore on all cylinders is 3.445"

Rod big end measures to 2.085

    Crank measures to 1.950

Gotta look in the book and see what standard size is for the crank and rods.

My question is how does a 20 year old black still have a standard size bore? There is no ridge either, its smooth.
