CSX in junkyard, Oceanside

Bummer, saw a '89 CSX in the Ecology in Oceanside. Mostly stripped, the head, VNT and computer was gone, trunk emblems gone and had aftermarket wheels so no Fiberides. I did manage to get the front grill. The shortblock is there along with the 555 with 3.85 final drive.

+1 on the plaque (dash and engine) car number? if no plaque get the VIN...

Didn't set the vin or the Shelby plate on the radiator support. I didn't want to bugger it up trying to get the rivets out. The ground effects were busted and hanging off the carn no dash plaque, no seats. No rear spoiler, no radiator/intercooler. Somebody had gotten there before me. Basically, whatever wasn't broken had been taken.

thanks for the heads up, i might need to pull a short block this next weekend, any idea on mileage? did the short block look alright (no windows)?

Shifter and cables still there??

Shifter (but no knob) and cables were still there. Didn't take a good look at the block, as I wasn't interested. Didn't the VNT's have a 2.2l with balance shafts? Don't know about the mileage, I think the dash was missing as I was looking for any kind of badging in the interior. I did get the CSX emblem off the right side dash pad, though. Did the CSXs come with a Shebly emblem on the shift knob? I was curious as to why it was missing.

As a side note, there was also a Lancer Pacifica there. I swiped the two rear hatch spoilers for the wifes LeBaron GTS.

Nope no emblem on the knob... just teh dash liek you got, the # plaque and hatch emblem.. oh, and the engine tag on the core support.

Please get some pics if you go again, and the VIN so we can find out what number nad wright it off in the registry

Sorry Alan, not familiar. But I am keeping my eye out for the 16v yellow TC that comes in once in a while, now that I know you only buythe 16v ones.

i lgrab support tag, not so sure bout the tranny, id grab it if i was pulling the short block 4 sure, we will see. i can grab the shifter and cables tho, do you need the bracket that connects to the tranny too?
