When ever I have used the product in an engine, gear case or oil pan, I have always applied it to a freshly bead blasted or sand blasted surface that was cleaned with hot water and detergant, then sprayed down with methethyl ketone or acetone. You must stir or shake the crap out of the glyptal before use, and air dry with blow dryer or bake it on. Then dont put it into service for a week or so.
I have never had it come off. BUT, if it is a previously used porous casting It needs to be baked first to get ALL the old oil residue out of the casting first or all bets are off.

I have seen some shops so called "hot tanks" put more oil into the casting than they get out. Sure the block looks clean, they get off the big chunks, but they are too lazy or tight to change the cleaning solution. How do you know what you paid for?

I prefer the baking ovens, and then I have them put into a media rolling rig that basically spins the casting like it was in a slurry of shot blast. They come out looking like they were just cast!

Warren - Do you still run the traction bar thing on the front swaybar? Or do you leave it dis-connected? It's one of the things I want to try and add to my car this winter to help the traction off the line...

No, When I installed front coil-overs I also removed the sway bar entirely and mounted the engine in solid with a motor plate.
At the power level I am at I thought I was putting too much stress on the block with the "torque arm" setup. I thought it was contributing to my cyl. head cracking problem, twisting the block and deck.

Are you running straps on the front end? Do you have any pics of how that is setup?

Never thought of that, but I'm sure it did put some forces into it!

I still have the mounts and straps, but I have not tried them with the coil-overs.

So I hope this is the fix. It has to be an improvement over splash oiling. I drilled two .031 holes 180 degrees apart from the gear root to the center of the gear shaft, then gun drilled from the shaft end to intersect with the the gear holes, then drilled a feed hole thru the brg. journal and plugged the end of the shaft.
Any news on if this helped?

I have to believe it did... Really it's what the factory would have done, had the bean counters not decided it was "good enough" as is...

That said, who doesn't like pretty pictures of things working correctly!

WOW, I just found this thread and read the whole thing, now I have to go clean myself up. Awsome car and results. I am also running an Electromotive Tec3, any tips from your experience, I'm real currious about the map blend feature. Again, Awesome build, looking forward to seeing it in person some day.
