Stainless says NHRA look, black would be more sleeper stock looking IMO.

What was the deal on the speed nuts? Did you get the ones that strip right at the bottom and don't want to come off?

The 'speed' nuts were all accessible accept the way back one. Had to remove all the trim to get to one nut, nothin speedy about that.cut and scratched the hell out of my hand and arm tryin to get at it.

LOL I'm showing my ignorance because I assumed it was sealed somehow.

Your dedication to shedding weight reminds me that I've got 40 lbs around my waist that I'd love to loose before racing at SDAC.

What did you use for stand off's? Do you think it would be possible to seal this set-up if somebody wanted to?

I machined .750" cubes of lexan, drilled a hole thru each and screwed thru the window into the pinch weld. I wanted the window surfaces to be flush with body.
You could easily caulk between the window panel and body I guess.

    Re: Laser XE coming back

    As always great work.

The advantage of sealing the car up to me, while there should be a substantial separation layer at speed, is that what air goes into the car should act something like a parachute. I would want the car to be as aerodynamically efficient as possible. Of course I end up focusing on tiny details like that when I still have glaring other issues with which to attend.

I do like what you've done with the windows because you've brought them up to the body line and that should be helpful.

    Re: Laser XE coming back

Got my wing done tonight, Hand formed aluminum. Taught myself how to install aircraft flush rivets, they are a real pain.
I designed it to resemble the original factory Laser wing. It only weighs 3.5lbs. the factory wing weighed 11lbs.
I'm very tired, got to go back to my box and crash
