Sadc, sdac, sdac!!!!
New engine is installed, running and race-able. On my way to Denver to deliver a engine now, will be testing when I get back. Should be fun.

I have heard rumors of the unicorn making an appearance at SDAC but I wasn't there. I hope to see you in Chicago/Wisconsin.
Very COOL!

I seriously feel privileged that I got to see this car in person and a private tour from Warren. I forgot most of what he showed me with the car, but the most unique thing that has always stood out was the sub $50 header that he built from the blue light special bin at the local Home Depot. I could be wrong on the price, but I do know what it was made from and more or less how he made it. CRAZY fabrication skills by Warren.

WOW!!!!
Looks great, Warren.
In the undercar pic, it looks like there are now two flowpaths for the exhaust to exit? Is the one going through the hood coming from a wastegate or is it also part of the turbine discharge?
Dont push the red button. You hear me?
Warren, your car is a work of art and new pictures never disappoint!

at 50psi is the WG even opening?
No it was not, that is one reason I test before I go to the track. Ordered another WG actuator to correct the problem.
I had been running the old 50 trim with WG wired shut just to get 26psi.
I must say, I grossly underestimated how much power this new engine would make. It pulls hard at over 8000rpm. If I didn't lift the throttle, it would easily hit 60psi, but runs out of fuel at around 38psi, so I couldn't stay in it for more than a couple of seconds.
I have a lot of sorting out to do. The way it is now, its as if there is a cable connected from the gas pedal, to the boost gauge needle.

I had an uncontrollable boost creep problem using an internal WG. It would start to become uncontrollable from 5500 RPM up! I never had my car running anywhere near it's full potiential because of the problem! I plan to have an external WG on my next combo, whenever that will be
Sounds like your drive pressure has dropped significantly from the 50 trim stage 3 set-up
For some reason people will spend an unlimited amount of time tuning external W/G set-ups, but when it comes to internal, they just seem to give up? (as if there is no solution)
A W/G is a W/G, plain and simple. Whether internal or external, If the set-up is creeping, there is Not enough flow through the W/G to control boost.
Solutions;
1. Make sure the W/G has full unrestricted travel. (I see this all the time. Custom instal and the W/G actuator arm is binding on the bottom of the intake manifold or being obstructed in some way)
2. Use the least amount of pre-load (tension) on the W/G actuator.
3. Increase the size of the W/G hole and/or improve the flow path of the exhaust Too the W/G hole.
4. Use less spring pressure in the W/G actuator.
While I'm quite sure Warren is aware of all of these solutions, I figured I would post this anyways, just so others don't become confused into thinking that this is a problem caused by Not going external W/G.
The only exception would be a system making enough HP that the W/G puck was too small to allow the proper size of W/G hole for the amount of exhaust that needs to be bypassed in order to control boost.
Bottom line; This is a Good sign! It means that the exhaust flow through the turbine is extremely efficient. I would be very interested in knowing how plugging one of the exhaust pipes would effect boost control. (ie. IF the increase in drive pressure would be enough to eliminate the boost creep and lower the over-all boost pressure)

Holy shitt balls,
That is insane, even my son commented on how nice and clean it was.
My only gripe is the ricer hood exhaust........................................
Kidding.

I'm interested to see what this does for power. There are so many people out there against internal WG for one reason or another. I don't think it's a problem with the dump exhaust entering near the turbine exit as it is that there isn't enough flow capacity after the turbine to handle both the turbine exhaust and the dump exhaust at the same time.
