Yup Quick 8, I won with a little controversy. Seems some of the V8 GM contingents didnt want to race me, but the company that sponsored the Q8 told them to run what they brung and I prevailed. I kicked their asses.........The biggest sore looser had a 04 Trans Am turbo'ed LS6 with Nitrous. also in the Q8 was a new LS6 vette, twin turbo mustang, NA camaro, NA S-10, Blown Mustang, and a nice Civic. I raced the Civic in the final.
Oh ya, Pro tree. First time I ever ran one.

Project Log:
http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/showthread.php?69708-The-Contraption-2013-14&highlight=
The plan was to test and tune on a quarter mile track once before SDAC. I had a choice of running at Oahe Speedway (great track, closest to me) or Interstate dragways, Fargo. I decided to go to Fargo because of road construction south route to Oahe Speedway. But the biggest reason is cause they were bragging on the net about how the new owner of Interstate Dragways was going to have "The best traction in the world", and my son lives in Fargo, so I can test and go fishing.
Remember the Seinfeld episode where everything was like opposite bizzarro world. Well that is the "new" Interstate Dragways. Instead of "best traction" it was worst traction, I mean worse than a rainy street, Literally.
The new owner decided it would be a good idea to scrape all the rubber off the entire concrete starting pad!!!)&^&%$%!!!!
When I got to my pit spot I went over to the starting line to check out this great traction situation. I couldnt believe what I saw! Was going to pack up and leave but I waited to see what their plan was.
After about an hour after they were suppose to start they had sprayed the bare concrete with compound and started running cars. They first two cars lost control, nearly collided, and one of them spun around twice ending up facing the starting line. I was a disaster waiting to happen.
I went back to my trailer to pack up and head home when an old buddy of mine shows up and talks me into staying till afternoon to see what happens.
Turns out, they get a bunch of cars daring enough to run the track and by 4:00 the cars are at least making it to the end of the track without crashing. Also the ambulance finally shows up!
So I decide to give it a shot. Ran a pedaling 12.15 Didnt get any MPH at all, their MPH clocks were not working
I was pissed at myself for not going to my local track. Then it dawned on me that for the first time Front wheel drive might be an advantage.
I saw there were 114 cars trying to qualify for the Q8 and that they were all having trouble even getting down the track in one piece, and I knew I could drive right trough the slimy track with fwd, so I entered Q8.
Waited another 45mins till some of the fast cars laid down some rubber and went back to qualify. Ran 10.58 spinning through the first 1/8.
Track would not even hold 24 psi boost. but that was good enough to pull out a win.
Ran all 10.50s in eliminations, Never got a MPH, have no idea what the speed was but did have to use alot more brake than usual.
SO, Now I know I can run tens on a city street. My local airport runway has better traction than this track.
I'll be bringing a car to SDAC that will run anywhere between 9.90-10.50
PS. nothing broke, car ran like a champ. Like Ohio Rob says "I love my car"

This car is an inspiration to me. I will never have the skill to pull anything like this off, but knowing that its out there is inspirational enough.
Absolutely stunning, congrats on making it both beautiful and functional!
Great job Warren!! Unfortunately either FWD Performance or my computer thinks their logo is more important than your mug. I thought I was actually going to put a face to the name but you continue to be Mr. Wilson. But as you can see from my FWD invaded screen shot that at the very least I was able to zoom in and see how much money you actually won and I gotta say it looks like it was some mad cash.

That's awesome Warren. Glad you had a good time, won money, and didn't break anything.
Not sure, I think they thought since I have a NHRA permanent number on the car and brought it in on a trailer, that it was a race car. (well actually it is a race car) Or more likely, they didnt want to face a Dodge! Let alone a four cyl. FWD Dodge.
Funny thing is The trans Am had a cage for 8.50's, four link suspension, tubs and all. All the cars were street drivable "race cars".
