I couldn't be bothered to replace my broken headlight adjuster. I know lazy.

Warren, I'm surprised that you consider the stock K-frame "light"! I know you did quite a bit of mods to yours a long time ago, but the stock ones are pretty darn heavy. Maybe with your mods a tubular one wouldn't actually net too much of a savings, but over a stock one you can save quite a bit of weight!

I'm also surprised that those hoses cut in the control arms weren't dimpled to help retain some rigidity, though I do realize you are pretty much just going straight.

I meant the control arms are fairly light now (6.75lbs) with aluminum bushing. Yes the stock K frame is relatively heavy (42 lbs). I plan on eventually building a tubular K frame.
The steel control arms are pretty damn thick, don't think the holes will be a problem.

I don't know, Mopar added extra bracing to those LCA's on the minivans.

    Looking good Warren!

Should have used Square cutouts though, we all remember what happened the last time Someone around here punched a bunch of holes in a factory suspension piece................

As I recall, Most where on the verge of cardiac arrest when I posted those picks and it looked like the same was about to happen here with Warrens!

Hey thanks for finding that video, I couldn't locate it. I actually let off just after the 1000ft. mark, as the car is not legal for 9's. Went 9.78 that Friday, and put the car away till qualifying Sun Morn. Had lots of fun. Great event.

So your previous best is 9.78 at 144, and you just ran a 9.9 at 128 while lifting. Sounds like low 9's are in your future?

The Laser runs 9.8's on a average track with good air, 3000 DA or better, On an exceptional track with really good air 9.6-9.7's. I counted all my 9 sec. time slips, came up with 19 now.

I don't count a 9.68 as my PB because I don't have the complete timeslip. I have not boosted beyond 33psi at any track yet as I am already traction limited, and the car is not yet legal for those times and speed.

I am debating on weather or not too go through all the work and expense to make the car legal to go eights or nines. I have a consistent 9 sec car that seldom breaks anything. what would you all do??

    That's easy....
    Stop sand bagging!

Depending on expense, why not get it legal?
If you are traction limited at 33psi, is there anything more you can do?
Is traction AFTER the 1/8 still an issue?

Warren, You already have one of the most interesting and phenomenal cars in the group. I'd like to see you be able to push it a bit more, if you feel comfortable with it. I also can see major benefit to keeping things close to how they are and have tons of fun without breaking!

Either way, you have every right to be very proud of what you have achieved, and how well executed it is!

I would get it certified for 8s, and bring it to SDAC next year.

make it legal and run 9.90 index divisional races.

I think I would have to add about 50lbs. to make it legal; that would put me about 9.90. But, I can easily remove 50 lbs. off the car by building a super light weight rear axle/brake setup as the stock assembly weighs 102 lbs. I just weighed one. (complete)
Then the car would be back to the current performance level. Its just that at 63 I'm too lazy.
Making power is not an issue. getting that power to hook is. I can crank to boost to 55psi.
I would have to engineer a way to mount wider tires and still have them tucked in the fenders, as I will never have them sticking out.

Someone should just buy this car and finish it.
