innovative external wastegate

so im putting in an innovative external wg.
i just want to make sure i know what i think i do about external WG's before i screw something up...

I do not know what spring is in it. i am not sure i have the eq to regulate low boost levels to open it. innovative is kaput? does anyone think tial springs would work? are all ext wg springs universal fitament? i would like to replace mine with a known lb'age'

and just for verification, the bottom one gets connected directly to to a source boost signal, and the upper one gets connected to whatever boost controller i am using? am i on the right path?

Google your wastegate brand, they have diagrams all over the place.

Most externals are set low, so your looking at 10 psi or so.

Ive been googling, but its an innovative wastegate.
its a pita to sort through results like "another innovative feature..."
add that on top of innovative no longer around and im kind of walking uphill.

basically i just need verification that the bottom port is boost ref, and the top port is for the boost controller. I have never used an ext wg, and the top/bottom ports i mentioned seem to be the way tials are, but i want to make sure that innovative isnt --- backwards and has the bottom for the controller, and top for ref.

sometimes googling for stuff is as effective as googling for torque specs for a door handle for a delorean

you could have just said, yes the top is for regulator, and bottom is reference for all ext wastegates, rather than make someone who didnt want to assume that feel like an ---. thank you.

Mark just run a vacuum hose straight from the manifold to the port that is pushing against the spring (the boost pushes the valve open against spring pressure). Run the car, look at the boost gauge and then you will know what spring is in there.
